Our Customer and Partner: Norwegian Cruise Line
On November 1st 2010, Cruises Logistic USA together with its affiliate The Italian Seaways Group, entered a five year agreement with NCL becoming the exclusive worldwide warehousing and distribution providers for their entire fleet. Since then, we have been serving this prestigious Customer from various hubs, by means of specialized logistics teams. The main hub is located at our headquarters in Medley, Florida with dry, refrigerated and bonded storage capabilities. Most of NCL's fleet cargo is now stored, received, consolidated and shipped out of the Medley facility. Our other cargo hubs for NCL are located in Los Angeles, Seattle, New York, Hamburg, Germany and Genoa, Italy. Our extensive expertise in cruise line logistics aided the initial transition through innovative IT solutions, and customized inventory and logistics procedures. A bit of history: Norwegian Cruise Line is the innovator in cruise travel with a 44-year history of breaking the boundaries of traditional cruising, most notably with the introduction of Freestyle Cruising which has revolutionized the industry by allowing guests more freedom and flexibility. Today, Norwegian has 11 purpose-built Freestyle Cruising ships providing guests the opportunity to enjoy a relaxed cruise vacation on some of the newest and most contemporary ships at sea. Last autumn, Meyer Werft and NCL reached an agreement for the construction of two new vessels, slated for delivery in Spring 2013 and 2014. These ships will be the largest ever built in Germany, at 143,500 tons.

2011 Carnival Cruise Line Dry Docks Projects
Just as we did for the last eight years here in Miami, once again our companies partnered up with CCL to carry out the on board logistics, shipping and warehousing for the Carnival Valor and Carnival Legend dry docks projects, and we are now gearing up for the upcoming ones up to year's end: Ecstasy, Triumph, Liberty and Elation. Our experienced team on board, in conjunction with our Miami's warehouse and headquarters and the valuable service of our affiliate the Italian Seaways Group, allow for coordinated efforts to cover the globe and respond to all Carnival Cruise Line shipping and logistics needs, during the critical time of a dry dock. A little history trivia: dry docks are not a modern invention, according to the ancient Greek author Athenaeus of Naucratis, the dry dock was invented in Ptolemaic Egypt, some time after the death of Ptolemy IV Philopator (reigned 221-204 BC) After that, a Phoenician devised a new method of launching a ship, having dug a trench under it, equal to the ship itself in length, which he dug close to the harbor. The Roman shipyard at Narni, Italy, which is still studied, may have served as a dry dock venue as well. Therefore, since Athenaeus recorded the event 400 years later (around 200 AD), there is sufficient reason to believe that dry docks had been known throughout classical antiquity.
